This relaxing half day afternoon tour combines art, nature and culture in a perfect blend: it starts by visiting the Sacred Forest of Padangtegal, home to a tribe of grey macaques, it continues visiting a local art market, followed by a guided tour of the official residence of Ubud’s Royal Family, and it ends with a traditional Indonesian dinner and Balinese dance performance.
Depart for Ubud in the afternoon to visit the Monkey Forest, also known as the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal. A natural forest sanctuary that is home to a swarm of long-tailed grey macaques is one of Ubud’s most popular attractions. Then we’ll go to the well-known local traditional art market. We’ll eat at a local restaurant before heading to Puri Saren Agung: originally the official residence of Ubud’s Royal Family, where descendants still live today, the palace now stages cultural dance events and is located on Ubud’s main boulevard. It is effectively the parent palace of Ubud’s other palaces, which were built as the family grew. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and go till 9:00 p.m. We’ll return to the hotel after the show.
