Day 1: Phnom Pehn – Arrival at pier (Sisowath Quay) by boat from Vietnam or Phnom Penh Int. Airport (Flight before 11: 00 am)
Arrival at the pier in Phnom Penh, our tour guide and driver will welcome you in the Arrival area of the pier and transfer for lunch at a local restaurant (lunch not included); after lunch break transfer to visit the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and Wat Phnom, that marks the place where the first pagoda was erected on a small hill in 1372, giving the official name to the Capital: Phnom Penh, or the “hill of Penh”. Then visit the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum. Check in at hotel and free time for leisure. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 2: Phnom Penh – Battambang [B]
After breakfast at the hotel departure from Phnom Penh to Battambang on the National road number 5. On the way, stop to visit the most interesting site of Odong and the largest Meditation centre in Cambodia: The Wat Vipasana Odong where you will see several nuns learning Buddhism and practicing meditation. Odong was the capital city before Phnom Penh. Walk up to the hill to enjoy a beautiful view of the area: the several Buddhist monasteries and the Stupa of the Royal family. Free time for lunch (not included) then continue to Battambang. Battambang is the second largest city in Cambodia with a fascinating mixture of colonial buildings and traditional Cambodian houses: some wooden houses are more than 100 years old and are handed down for generations. There are many popular sites and activities to try out in this province: you will ride the Bamboo train before visiting the 12th century temples of Phnom Banan and Phnom Sampov and the famous natural bat cave in Phnom Sampov: every evening thousands of bats fly out of the cave only to come back in the morning. You will be amazed by the long line of flying bats. Overnight in Battambang.
Day 3: Battambang – Bantey Chhmar – Siem Reap [B]
Departure from Battambang to Siem Reap passing through the city of Banteay Mean Chey, a small town with nice decorations: visit the Independence Monument, the big statues of the Hindu gods and Ek Phnom Temple. Later continue to visit the beautiful temple which was built by the famous king Jayavaraman VII at the end of the 12th century, the Banteay Chhmar temple. The temple is built in sand stone and located in the jungle near the Thai border. Lunch on the way to Siem Reap (lunch not included) and stop to visit a silk farm before reaching Siem Reap. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 4: Angkor Heritage Tour [B]
After breakfast at the hotel transfer to visit Angkor World Heritage Site with the most interesting site and crown jewel of the Khmer art: the temple of Banteay Srey. Built in the 10th century using pink sand stone, it is still well preserved and decorated with beautiful carvings. Later, continue to visit Banteay Samre temple before going for lunch in a local restaurant (lunch not included). After lunch continue to visit the temples of Ta Som, Neak Pean and Preah Kahn, all located in the jungle in the Grand circle of Angkor Archaeological park. At the end of the visits, transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5: Angkor temples tour [B]
In the morning, after breakfast, transfer to Angkor Archaeological Park to explore one of the wonders of the world: Angkor Wat. The tours start from the south gate of Angkor Thom, the last capital city of the Khmer empire, and continue with Bayon, in the centre of Angkor Thom, known for the 200 enigmatic, smiling faces and towers; continue with the temples of Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Terrace of the Elephant, the Terrace of the Leper king, and Ta Prohm, famous for being filmed in the movie Tomb Raider, and for the giant trees growing out of the ruins. Later, stop in a local restaurant for lunch (lunch not included). It the afternoon continue to visit the largest temple in the world, Angkor Wat, the 7th wonder of the world. Watch the sunset at the temple of Pre Rup then return to the hotel. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 6: Tonle Sap lake – Floating Village – Rolous Group [B]
In the early morning, after breakfast in hotel, transfer to the largest lake in South East Asia, Tonle Sap, located south east of Siem Reap. The lake is supplied by the Mekong River and hosts many floating villages. About 3 million people live around the lake. You will board a boat to visit a floating village while our professional tour guide will explain you more about the daily life of the people living on the Tonle Sap. Then, transfer back to the restaurant (lunch not included) for lunch and in the afternoon visit the oldest Khmer temples (9th century) of the Roluos Group: Lo Lei, Preah Ko and the unique pyramid-shaped temple of Bakong, with 5 levels. Back to the hotel in the afternoon and free time to relax until the transfer to Siem Reap international airport in time for your scheduled flight to the next destination. End of services.
