Half Day
General Description

The main feature of this excursion is the early departure in the morning which allows you to visit the first two destinations in a semi-deserted condition. The tour will visit Hong Island, Koh Ladin and the island of Pakbia. Hong Island it is the best known among them and is a perfect escape on holiday. It is a wonderful uninhabited island renowned for its breath-taking beauty, shallow coral reefs and fine, sandy beaches. In the middle of the half-circle shaped island lies the secret lagoon, where you can find yourself at one with nature.

Itinerary

Half Day

Hong Island Tour by longtail

Departure from the beach in front of your hotel

Meeting with boat man at the beach in front of your hotel.

The boatman will wait at the beach in front of your hotel (Klong Muang Beach or Koh Kwang Beach) and then will leave to the first stop of your tour: Lao Ladin Island.

Stop at Lao Landin Island

Arrival at Lao Ladin Island. Time to enjoy this secluded beach

There is a high possibility to reach the secluded beach of Lao Ladin when no other boat has arrived yet. This means to enjoy this particular, small bay at its best, swimming in its crystal water without any crowd and feeling part of the natural environment.

Stop at Pakbia Island

Arrival at Pakbia Island for snorkelling

With its sandy beach and peculiar shape, the remote Pakbia Island is where we stop for more snorkelling and photography. The island features a circular dome connected to a rocky crop by a strip of almost yellow sand. Its waters are more emerald than crystal clear and the very natural environment makes it an amazing scenery.

Stop at Hong laggon

Arrival in Hong lagoon and time for swimming in the clear water

Hong Lagoon, also known as The Room with a view, is a secluded lagoon surrounded by high limestone cliffs. There is only one entrance to this fantastic scenery, a channel about 10 meters wide that opens into the inner sea lake. The water here is shallow, and adults and children can relax and lazily swim or float around.

Stop at Hong Island Beach & New Viewpoint

Arrival at Hong Island Beach: time for swimming and exploring the island.

A stunning double beach with white powdery sand set in a bay with turquoise water, Hong Island is the ideal place to enjoy time sunbathing, relaxing, snorkelling, feeding the fish and taking photos. The lush jungle of the island can be explored by strolling the paths that depart from the beach. If lucky, you can see the monitor lizards that like to rest and hunt among the vegetation. But there’s more: a new viewpoint was recently built in Hong Island. After climbing a steep but not too difficult set of stairs you can reach a platform with a spectacular 360-degree view on the double beach of Hong Island!

Return to hotel

Boarding the long tail boat and move back to the beach in front of your hotel. If you choose to enjoy a lunch on the beach, the boat will drop you off in Koh Kwang, where several restaurants offer plenty of food choice.

Note:

Tour available only for guests staying in Klong Muang Beach.

Highlights

Hong Island Lagoon is absolutely one of the most charming places in the Andaman Sea: a narrow gateway between the high rock’s wall leads into the peaceful and spectacular environment of mangrove swamps decorated with the rounded shape roots of mangroves, emerging from the waters, and crowned with its green leaves. When the tide is lower it’s easy to see the curious, small fauna populating this habitat, such as the mud-skippers, amphibious fishes that can use their pelvic fins to walk on the mud or like the fiddler crab: small crabs with a major claw much larger than the other.

Ladin Island, known also as Paradise Island, is a small island in the Hong Archipelago. Guests will land in a small secluded bay, whose main characteristic are the high located caves where swallows build their nests. The bird’s nests, being an extremely appreciated food by Chinese people, are a particularly thriving market. As evidence of this activity, visitors can see the large bamboo canes used by the collectors to climb and take the so called “White Gold”.
