Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, visit Old and New Delhi. Exterior visit to the Red Fort, built in 1639 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (he who built the Taj Mahal) and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007. Visit the Jama Masjid, one of India‘s most impressive mosques, also commissioned by Shah Jahan and completed in 1656. We pass through the quaint old market of Chandni Chowk, built in the 17th century by the emperor himself. We visit the Raj Ghat, a black marble platform that marks the site of Mahatma Gandhi‘s cremation on 31 January 1948, one day after his assassination. Continue through New Delhi to Government House, which represents the world’s largest liberal democracy, and Connaught Place. Stop at the India Gate, the arch erected in memory of the Indian soldiers who gave their lives fighting for the British Army during the First World War. Finally, visit the Sikh Bangla Sahib Temple, the most important Sikh place of worship in Delhi (Sikhs are followers of Sikkimso, a doctrine introduced by Guru Nanak in the 15th century). Like all Sikh temples, the temple houses a large communal kitchen called a ‘langar’, where all people of any religion or caste can eat together. The food is prepared and served by volunteers who like to help out.

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the Qutub Minar complex, a 73-metre-high tower on which verses from the Koran are engraved, built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak, one of the most beautiful monuments in India and the world. Departure for Jaipur, the ‘pink city’ because of the color of the pink sandstone buildings in the beautiful old city.

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the famous Amber fortress, 11 km away. The red earth and white marble Amber, whose construction was begun in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I, was the ancient capital of the state and was the seat of all the Rajput dynasties until the founding of Jaipur. The austere exterior conceals interiors adorned with sculptures, mirrors, and precious stones. We access the entrance to the fort on the back of an elephant or by jeep (depending on availability), walking along the ramparts of the fort. Return to the city and stop in front of the Palace of the Winds or Hawa Mahal, built in 1799 to allow the ladies of the court to observe, without being seen, daily life in the streets. Start with the visit to Jaipur, the ‘pink city’. Jaipur is the capital of Rajastan and was founded on 18 November 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber, after whom the city was named. Visit the City Palace complex, the historic seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, whose construction began between 1729 and 1732 by Sawai Jai Singh II and which, with its courtyards, gardens, and buildings, forms the heart of the old city. It is still the residence of the royal family, although part of it is a museum. We continue with a visit to Jantar Mantar, the Astronomical Observatory, a World Heritage Site, a set of architectural forms serving as astronomical instruments, built by Maharaja Jai Singh II between 1727 and 1734 on the model of similar structures already erected in Delhi. City tour by typical Indian vehicle, the Tuk Tuk.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Agra. En route, stop to visit the Chand Baori of Abhaneri, an ancient stepwell palace that is also the largest in India. The well is built in steps, according to a scheme invented by the natives, to collect rainwater which was also used for purification ablutions before entering the Mata Temple Harshat which stands right opposite the well. The second stop will be at Fatehpur Sikri, located 40 km from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, who wanted it as a magnificent testimony to the power of his court. The city was abandoned 15 years later due to water shortages. Its red sandstone palaces and pavilions are perfectly preserved. Continuation to Agra, the city of love.

Early in the morning, visit the Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), a monument whose construction was ordered by Shah Jahan out of love for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth in 1631, and was completed in 1653. Their bodies rest eternally in a simple crypt. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose construction was ordered by Emperor Akbar in 1565. Visit the Pearl Mosque and the Halls of Audience. Departure for Delhi. Arrival in Delhi and dinner in a local restaurant. No overnight stay.
Dinner and transfer to the international airport.
