Highlights

A visit to the Royal Grand Palace is a must-do for new-comers in Bangkok, and for everybody wishing to know more about the culture and history of Thailand: the elegant and glittering former residence of the past Kings of Thailand is a large complex of buildings, temples and pagodas. Several buildings are still used for official events nowadays.

The spectacular Wat Arun has a unique design and its riverside location in the traditional Yai area of Thonburi district make it for a great spot to observe life on the river and the Wat Pho and the Royal Palace on the opposite bank: just climb the central stupa that rises over 70 meters high, beautifully decorated with Chinese colourful porcelain tiles.
