General Description

A  6 day-5 night tour to discover the Cultural Heritage of Peninsular Malaysia, starting with the historical sites and vibrant colours of Malacca, continuing with the stunning tea plantation and waterfalls of Cameron Highlands, then heading to Kuala Sepetang, one of Malaysia’s biggest charcoal-producing regions, the “red hills” of Bukit Merah and the Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center.

The itinerary ends in the island-state of Penang, famed throughout South East Asia for its amazing mix of eastern cultures: visit Georgetown’s main temples, famous buildings and attractions before flying out of the island to your next destination.

Day 1

Kuala Lumpur – Malacca

At 9:00 am meeting with the guide and transfer to Malacca. Visit the historical sites of Malacca, including St Paul’s Church and the Famous Fort, Stadthuys and its vibrant red square, the Melaka Strait Mosque and Cheng Hoon Teng Temple which is one of the most important monuments in Malacca . Lunch in a restaurant to experience the ancient cuisine mixed with Chinese and Malaysian flavors. In the evening, enjoy the view by sailing along the river that runs through the city center. Rest of the evening free at leisure.

Day 2

Malacca – Cameron Highlands

Breakfast at hotel. Early morning, departure to Cameron Highlands. Lunch box. Rest stop at the Iskandar Waterfall and visit at the nearby Orang Asli settlement. Visit the tea plantation and the market.

Day 3

Cameron Highlands - Kuala Sepetang – Bukit Merah – Belum

Breakfast at hotel. Early morning, departure to Kuala Sepetang. Arrival in Kuala Sepetang and start the tour that will include the visit to a traditional charcoal factory, a boat cruise across the mangrove forest downstream to the fishing village. Lunch at a local restaurant with panoramic view of the river mouth. After lunch, transfer to Bukit Merah to the Orang Utan rehabilitation centre. After the visit, transfer to your forest resort.

Check in at your selected resort and dinner. Following by a jungle night walk to experience the sound of the wildlife surrounding the resort.

Belum - Penang

Morning after breakfast, lake boat cruise to discover the wildlife of Belum. After lunch, departure to Penang. Arrival in Penang, rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 5

Penang - City tour

Breakfast at hotel. The tour starts with the visit at the Kek Lok Si Temple, a Buddhist Temple where Mahayana Buddhism and traditional Chinese rituals blend into a harmonious whole, the tour continues with the sightseeing of Georgetown city, visiting the reclining Buddha at the Wat Chayamangkalaram. Next visit the Fort Cornwallis of the East India co., where Captain Francis Light landed in 1786. Take a trishaw ride along the streets of the old Penang. View the heritage of the Khoo Kongsi a large Chinese clanhouse, where you will be fascinated by the detailed carvings on the walls, pillars and roofs by master craftsmen from China. After that, be amused by the colours, sounds, perfumes and faces of the people living in the streets of Little India. Afternoon free at leisure.

Highlights
  • In colonial times, the British grew tea plantations on the fertile mountains of Cameron Highlands, blessed by a moderate climate; today this area has become the largest tea exporter of Malaysia, and the place to admire tea fields and take marvellous photos, and go hiking.
  • Meet up close with the Orang Utan at the hidden sanctuary of Bukit Merah, and learn about their daily lives and habits. It’s an educational experience for adults and children and a way to support their cause: the proceeds go to finance and maintain the sanctuary.
  • Go art and history hopping in Penang’s most colourful city, historic Georgetown, a melting pot of culture that results in delicious and varied street food, colonial architecture, lively neighbourhoods and exciting sightseeing to do.

  • It rains a lot in Cameron Highlands: bring a raincoat or umbrella, even in dry season. In the cooler months, bring a warm coat or jumper.

Travelers can cancel the tour before the deadline of cancellation; charges will be applied according to the cancellation deadline. The date of cancellation is the date in which the written communication od cancellation is received by the company.  Charges are a percentage of the total tour price per person, including surcharges but excluding any amendment charges and any insurance payment.
