The next stop is at the COPE, a rehabilitation centre for the victims of landmines and bombs that were thrown over a vast Lao territory during the Vietnam war. As today, this is still one of the major problems Laos has to face.

The last stop is the Buddha Park, 30 minutes out of the city, on the bank of the river Mekong, where we will admire a unique collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures. Our day ends with a stunning sunset over the Mekong.

Optional: Vientiane, night tour and dinner in a local restaurant

We will start at 6 pm and explore the city with night lights: boarding a Tuk Tuk (a local means of transport) we will visit the night market near the That Luang; the guide will give us a tour of the market and explain about popular local dishes, ingredients and prices.

Then we will go to have dinner in a local restaurant where we will try the “”SinDat”, a typical lao BBQ quite popular among the locals.
